Who am I

My name is Paul Ford and I have recently begun my journey as the Social Media and Marketing campaign assistant at Scenegraph studios. Before being hired for this position, I studied at the City of Liverpool College from 2015 – 2020. Throughout these 5 years, I Completed multiple courses within the Creative Media Production Field, Specifically games development. During my time in education, I developed numerous skills such as; UE4 3D Level Design and blueprint coding system, 3D Asset creation using Autodesk Maya, 2D sprite design and image manipulation using Adobe Photoshop, and many more.

What do I want to get out of this apprenticeship

Throughout the next 6 months at Scenegraph Studios I would like to gain a lot of insight and knowledge to do with the company and the creative industry as a whole. I believe this is vital for me as creative work is something that I have always wanted to do, and this is my first position in the field. This position will also allow me to understand how companies market successfully, giving me a much wider interest in employment in the future. More specifically I would Like to study Google Analytics further, allowing me to understand the growth and evolution of marketing/advertising strategies for businesses, and how their online traffic is recorded. Doing these things will allow me to kickstart my career in the creative field, whether that be in 3D development or marketing.

What are my skills

I think it is important to break down what my development skills are and what my transferable skills are, as this will show me exactly what skill set I need to use to ensure my work at scenegraph Studios will be the highest standard possible. Even though I will not be developing at my time within Scenegraph studios, I still believe my development knowledge is important as it allows me to have constant interest and actual knowledge of what the company is creating.

When I am not developing, my favorite pastime is playing video games on my PC, Playstation 5, and Nintendo Switch as I love what each of these devices offers, Such as high-end graphics, realistic VR experiences, and outstanding single-player stories. Some of my favorite game series are The Elder Scrolls and The Legend Of Zelda which I have been playing since I was quite young. I just love how unique and exciting these video game universes are, with The  Elder Scrolls’ incredible RPG system allowing you to create the exact character you want, and The Legend Of Zelda with its exceptional storytelling and challenging puzzles.
